Ashton: opening Khojaly airport won't facilitate peace process

Members of the European Parliament have asked the opinion of the High Representative of the European
Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, regarding the opening of the Khojaly airport, the
head of the Azerbaijani delegation to Euronest, Elkhan Suleymanov,
told APA. Ashton made an official comment on the issue on February 18.

Suleymanov said that Ashton fully supports the statements issued by
the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in April 2011 and July 2012. The
statement expressed concern over the growing tension due to Khojaly
airport's opening. She said that flights would not contribute to the
peace process.
