Egypt sees no future for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a "new" Syria, Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr said today.
"We believe that the Syrian president has no role to play in a "new" Syria. There are other views regarding his subject, some people believe that such a role exists, but Egypt does not see such a role," the head of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.
He stressed that Cairo, as well as Moscow, opposes any military intervention in Syria and supports the idea of finding a political resolution to the crisis.
