The European Parliament has failed to pass a resolution on Europe’s attitude to the political situation in Georgia.
The oppositionist UNM and the EPP fraction wanted to add a point on responsibility of the police for the events at the National Library of Tbilisi on February 18. The Georgian Dream coalition, greens and the Party of European Socialists were opposed to the idea.
Tina Khidashvili of the Georgian delegation said that two points were disagreed on. Georgy Kandelaki of the UND demanded recognition of pressure from the ruling forces and idleness of the police during the events of February 8.
