U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visited the U.S. Embassy in Ankara on Friday, as he attended a commemoration ceremony held for the Turkish security guard who was killed exactly one month ago in a terrorist attack at the embassy
, Hurriyet Daily News reports.
The attack was launched on February 1, the last day of Kerry’s predecessor’s tenure, and was carried out by an outlawed leftist group, the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
The ceremony at the embassy was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Francis Ricciardone, the embassy staff and their families.
