Armenian Constitutional Court considers lawsuits of candidates for president

 

The Constitutional Court has started studies of lawsuits from candidates for president Raffi Ovannisyan, leader of the Heritage Party, and Andreas Gukasyan, head of Radio Hay, filed on March 4. They claim that the election results of February 18 published by the CEC on February 25 were false, News Armenia reports.

President Serzh Sargsyan is represented by Justice Minister Grayr Tovmasyan and head of the parliamentary commission for legal affairs David Arutyunyan. Tigran Mukuchyan, head of the CEC, and Nune Ovannisyan, head of the legal section of the CEC, are the defendants.

Ovannisyan is represented by MP Zarui Postanjyan and lawyer Karen Medzhmulyan of the Heritage Party. Gukasyan has no representatives.
