EU Council passes harsher sanctions against Iran

 

Foreign ministers of 27 EU states have passed harsher sanctions against Iran. Limitations implemented for violation of human rights by Iranian authorities have been extended by 12 months, press service of the EU Council reports.

9 more individuals were blacklisted, making a total of 87. Assets of an Iranian company were frozen for violation of human rights.

New sanctions will come into force on March 13.
