US extends anti-Iranian sanctions

US President Barack Obama has extended anti-Iranian sanctions passed in 1995 by a year. The sanctions have been in force for 18 years, RIA Novosti reports.

Extension of the sanctions was provoked by a report of James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence. The document states that the Iranian nuclear program was prestigious and was unlikely to be developing nuclear weapons.
