Russian Duma supports initiatives of Rossotrudnichestvo

The meeting of the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs ended a couple

of hours ago in Moscow.  The Head of the Federal Agency for the

Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and

International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) Kosachev

presented his report.

The event was held in preparation for the discussion on the prospects

of Rossotrudnichestvo that will be held at the plenary session of the

State Duma in early April. In his speech  Kosachev addressed the

problem areas in the work of Rossotrudnichestvo in neighboring

countries and the implementation of the resettlement program and the

return of compatriots.

As the head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Slutsky

said, it is likely that the coming of the discussion will be a rare

for the current State Duma  example of solidarity of all factions.

Moreover, the resolution will include a clause for systematic support of

the initiatives of Rossotrudnichestvo in neighbouring countries,

including an increase in budget funding, which, despite the earlier

decision, was not fully implemented.
