Foreign parents to have no say in Russian citizenship

Russians who are married to foreign citizens will no longer require the consent of their spouses to grant their children Russian citizenship. The State Duma has approved a bill that abolishes these regulations.

The chair of the State Duma, Sergey Naryshkin, has hailed the document and said that it would secure the rights of children.
