Iran and the UK started talks on restoration of consulate relations, as stated by Hassan Kashkavi, deputy head of the Iranian foreign minister for consulate issues.
Iran reduced intensity of diplomatic relations with the UK due to sanctions passed in 2011. The UK closed its embassy in Tehran after disorders on its territory and demanded Iran to close its embassy in London.
The states agreed to have embassies of Oman and Sweden to represent their interests.
