Healthcare minister appointed in Iran

 

Mohammad-Hassan Tarighat Monfared, introduced by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has been appointed by the parliament as the Healthcare Minister.

He got 113 votes of 224 MPs present at the session. 99 voted against him and 12 abstained.

The new minister replaces Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi, the first and the only woman at the Iranian Cabinet. Ahmadinejad dismissed her in December 2012.
