Armenian candidate for president to remain detained

Vardan Sedrakyan, Armenian ex-candidate for president, will remain under detention, the Court of Appeal dismissed his complaint. The decision may be appealed at the Court of Cassation in 15 days, Armenian Report cites Sedrakyan’s lawyer Alexander Sirunyan.

Sirunyan insists that his client’s detention is illegal, because he was arrested before March 15 and remained a candidate for president. Moreover, Sedrakyan was not hiding from investigators or hindering their work.
