Two vessels to join Russia’s Caspian Fleet this year

 

“Uglich” and “Grad Sviyazhsk” missile ships, “Grachonok” motorboat, “Serna” marine ships and three tugboats will join the Russian Caspian Fleet in 2013, RIA Novosti reports.

“VTR-79” crane ship of the “Dubnyak” project will join the fleet in July-August to transport cargo. It was built at Nizhny Novgorod Region.

“Grad Sviyazhsk” of project 21631 was founded at the Zelenodolsky Shipbuilding Factory of A.M. Gorky in August 2010, “Uglich” in July 2011. They have water disposal of 949 tons and have adcanced artillery, missile and air defense equipment.

“Grachonok” has 3 analogues, the first one built in 2009 and serving at the Leningrad Naval Base. The second one started service at the Novorossiysk Naval Base in 2012.
