Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who previously said that he would quit politics after his second term, announced that he had changed his mind.
"I was going to quit politics in case of the National Movement's victory during the October elections," Saakashvili told the Imedi TV channel.
However, the fact that the opposition won the elections made Saakashvili reconsider his plans for future. "The most important thing is to maintain the democratic system that we have established, despite all the criticism," Saakashvili said.
Saakashvili did not specify what his first step after leaving presidential office would be.
