A conscription serviceman of the Ministry of Defence's 136th motorized infantry battalion was killed last night in the Dagestani town of Buynaksk, ITAR-TASS informs, referring to the local police authorities.
The accident occurred about midnight, when a group of unidentified perpetrators entered the battalion's checkpoint, took the servicemens' cell-phones and then one of the criminals stabbed one of the soldiers.The injured serviceman died on the way to hospital.
An hour earlier, unidentified perpetrators opened fire upon a group of the Ministry of Defence officers near the same checkpoint. Three officers were killed.
Investigators do not think that these two incidents are linked to each other. The case is being investigated.
