Georgian government and opposition name candidates for parliamentary polls

 

The Georgian Dream Party of Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and United National Movement of President Mikheil Saakashvili have named their candidates for three majority districts for the midterm parliamentary elections of April 27.

Ivanishvili presented candidates at the Tbilisi office of his party. Tamar Kordzaya was introduced at the Nadzaladevi District, Paata Kiknavelidze at the Bagdat Electoral District and Giorgi Kakhiani at Samtredia. All three are lawyers.

Saakashvili introduced Emzar Shubladze, deputy head of the Samtredia municipality, for the district, Vladimir Tsikoridze, deputy head of the municipality of the Bagdat District, for the Bagdat District and Mirza Davitaya, former State Minister for the Diaspora, for the Nadzaladevi District.
