Armenian government to pay for Ayrikyan’s treatment

The Reserve Fund of Armenia will pay about $50,000 for treatment of Paruyr Ayrikyan, head of the National Self-Determination Movement and ex-candidate for president, News Armenia reports.

Ayrikyan was shot on January 31 and treated at the Red Cross Center.

Vardan Sedrakyan, an ex-candidate for president, is suspected of organizing the assassination attempt. The Court of Kentron and Nork Marash has put Sedrakyan under two-month arrest. The suspect does not admit guilt and refuses to testify.
