Georgian president leaves for Turkey

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili left for Turkey today, the presidential office says in a statement.

During his official visit the Georgian president is expected to meet with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul and the country's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The parties are set to discuss a controversial bilateral agreement concerning cultural heritage.
