Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia was approving the pragmatic approach of Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, but would not reconsider recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Interfax reports.
Lavrov reminded that the conflict of Georgia and South Ossetia in 2008 and further statements of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili reaffirmed Russia that there was no other way than recognition of the two breakaway republics to guarantee their security and survivability.
