US says Iran exports oil despite sanctions

The United States has imposed sanctions on Iranian tycoon Babak Zandzhani and Malaysia's First Islamic Investment Bank. The US believes that they served as mediators for Iranian oil exports undertaken despite international sanctions.

According to the US information, Zanzhani headed a network engaged in selling and transporting Iranian oil. The network included the First Islamic Investment Bank, a company registered in Switzerland, and several organizations controlled by the Iranian National Oil Company, the country's government and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.
