Russian President Vladimir Putin has met US President Barack Obama’s Advisor for National Security Thomas Donil who brought a message. Donil was assisted by US Ambassador Michael McFaul, US Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Rose Gottemoeller and Under Secretary of Defense Jim Miller, ITAR-TASS reports.
The visit took place right after publication of the Magnitsky list.
According to Russian presidential assistant Yuri Ushakov, Putin will take part in the talks with the US delegation. Ushakov, Secretary of the Russian Defense Council Nikolai Patrushev, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov and officials of FSB and the Foreign Intelligence Service will have talks with the US delegation.
Donil met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov this morning.
Obama’s message contains new constructive approaches to improve relations of Russia and the US. Some of them were mentioned in previous messages.
