The commander of the Georgian battalion in Afghanistan, Lieutenant-Colonel Fridon Tereladze, received a plaque for his contribution to the Georgian contingent in the mission of International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF).
"Your courage and outstanding service will affect the future of Afghanistan for a long time, as well as the patriotism of the U.S. Marines Corps and the Georgian army," Novosti-Gruzia quotes the words of US Army Colonel Sparks Rainford, who presented the award.
S.Rainford noted the role of Georgian troops in Afghanistan to help the Afghan army and police provide security in Helmand province.
