Today the MPs of Dagestan decided to petition Russian president to allow for the early elections of the head of the republic.
The Dagestani MPs want to have these elections before the United Election Day, that is planned for September 8.
Today, Dagestani MPs used the new law and decided to elect the president through an indirect vote in the parliament.
According to the Deputy President of the Parliament Saigidahmed Ahmedov, "early election will not cause extra expense because the investors are interested in the clear situation with the republican authorities".
The idea of the early elections was supported by the acting president of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov. "I ask to discuss it one more time in the presidium of the Parliament of Dagestan and to present such petition if it is considered necessary", he said, quoted by RIA Dagestan.
