Ingush people call on Russian president to settle border issue

The Assembly of the Ingush People has called upon Russian President Vladimir Putin to settle the border issue. The Ingush people believe that the current Chechen-Ingush border should remain unquestioned.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has previously called for the border to be reconsidered, saying that two of Ingushetia's districts are in fact Chechen lands.
The assembly was held in the village of Nesterovskaya today. The event was attended by Ingush leader Yunus-bek Yevkurov and the first president of the republic, Ruslan Aushev.
