Ingush parliament passes bill on appointment of regional leader

25 out of 27 Ingush MPs have voted for the bill on appointment of Ingush leader. MP Ruslan Gagiyev said that the bill needed further improvements, RIA Novosti reports.

22 MPs of Ingushetia belong to the United Russia Party, two to the CPRF and A Fair Russia and one to Right Cause.

The People’s Assembly rallied in Nesterovskaya on April 20 recommended parliamentary election of the republic’s leader.

The candidates for the position are Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, former Russian MP Mukharbek Aushev, Speaker of the Ingush Parliament Mukharbek Didigov, his deputy Ruslan Gagiyev, member of the Federal Drug Control Service of Ingushetia Magomed Bogatyryov, Interfax reports.

Preliminary voting for the candidates is planned for May 13 – June 16, as stated by Zelimkhan Yevloyev, secretary of the Ingush regional office of the United Russia Party.
