Iranian parliamentary representatives demand expulsion of British ambassador

A group of representatives of the Iranian Parliament demanded the Iranian Foreign Ministry expel the British ambassador from the country and close the UK's Embassy in Tehran, in connection with claims regarding the Iranian nuclear program's non-peaceful nature put forward by the British ambassador in Tehran, Trend reports, citing Deputy Chairman of the Iranian parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, Ismail Kovsari.

Kovsari said that earlier the Iranian Parliament's 31 representatives demanded the Foreign Ministry close the British Embassy in Tehran due to Great Britain's controversial position towards Iran, but despite this the British Embassy remains where it was.

"Iran's Foreign Ministry should pay special attention to such issues and consider expelling the British ambassador from the country," Kovsari said.
