Erdogan and Cameron on results of talks

Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his British counterpart David Cameron spoke at a joint press-conference about their talks, TRT reports.

At the negotiations, the Turkish premier handed a letter to the British premier, written by the Ottoman Sultan Murad III to British Queen Elizabeth I.

The premiers also signed a renewed text of the document of strategic partnership. Cameron noted that relations between Turkey and Israel must continue for the sake of peace in the Middle East. The Turkish premier compared the attack on the Turkish ship with the attacks of Somalia pirates. Cameron said that they demand the lifting of the Gaza blockade.

Erdogan clarified the position on Iran saying that, unfortunately, the sanctions had come into force. Turkey is not interested in presence of nuclear arms in the region and is constantly talking about that with Iranian officials, he said.
