Syrian state television says Israel has launched an air strike on a military research centre near the Syrian capital of Damascus. Several explosions took place in the vicinity of the city this morning, Reuters reports.
"The aim of this attack is to raise the morale of the terrorists," Syrian television says.
Israel previously confirmed there had been an air strike on Syria aimed at preventing arms deliveries to Hezbollah.
