Almost 5 tons of aid were bought to Bishkek by the Intergovernmental fund of humanitarian cooperation of CIS countries, the press-secretary of the fund Alexander Kalugin said.
The aid was sent on the recommendation of the council of humanitarian aid cooperation at the Executive Committee of CIS in Minsk on June 18th, 2010. The receivers of the aid are schools, schools for the blind, and people in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad with mental illnesses.
The school students received textbooks, computers, and other materials. A Russian woman, Irina Arkhangelskaya, donated over 500 books she had collected for 50 years, RIA Novosti reports.
