Armenian opposition wants recount of votes for Council of Elders

The Armenian National Congress (ANC) wants votes given during elections at the Yerevan Council of Elders to be recounted, lawyer Armen Khachatryan of the ANC says.

The elections were held on May 5. 816,000 people had the right to vote. 53.53% of voters (437,021 people) voted. The Republican Party got 55.89% of votes, Prosperous Armenia 23.07%, Hello,Yerevan 8.48%, Armenian National Congress 4.39%, Dashnaktsutyun 3.80%, Orinats Yerkir 3.73%, Arakelutyun 0.64%.
