US Secretary of State John Kerry has met with Russian human rights activists in Moscow, Lyudmila Aleksyeva, the head of the Moscow Helsinski Group, told Ekho Moskvy on Wednesday.
The parties discussed the situation surrounding non-governmental organizations in Russia.
The Russian parliament has recently passed a law forcing non-governmental organizations that receive foreign grants to register as foreign agents. The law has been criticized harshly by the Russian opposition and the international community.
According to Lyudmila Alekseyeva, the US official listened attentively to the activists and made several 'courteous, but non-committal remarks.'
