The death toll from the explosions that hit the southern Turkish province of Hatay’s Reyhanli district on the Turkish-Syrian border has risen to 46, Hürriyet Daily News cites Turkish Deputy Prime Ministrer Beşir Atalay as saying today.
More than 100 people were injured, 56 of whom are still being treated, the official is quoted as saying.
The explosions at downtown Reyhanlı, which is hosting many Syrians fleeing the conflict in the country, occured at around 1:45 p.m. local time.
The explosions were likely caused by two cars filled with explosives, Hürriyet Daily News cites Interior Minister Muammer Güler as saying.
