A group of ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet has entered the Red Sea and will pass the Suez Canal, RIA Novosti cites spokesman of the fleet First-Rank Captain Roman Martov.
The group consists of the following ships: Admiral Panteleyev, Admiral Nevelsky, Peresvet, Fotiy Krylov and Pechenga. They left Vladivostok on March 19 and will enter the Mediterranean Sea on May 17-20, entering the Limassol Port of the Cyprus. It will be the fleet’s first entrance in the sea in decades.
Russia is forming the Mediterranean Squadron.
