Russia's Federal Security Service said on Tuesday that it has detained an American spy.
According to the body's statement, the diplomat, identified as Ryan Christopher Fogle, a third secretary in the political department, was detained on May 13 as he attempted to recruit an officer from one of Russia's special services, RIA Novosti reports.
The US embassy in Moscow refuses to comment on the incident.
