President Dmitry Medvedev has advised new Daghestani president Magomedaslam Magomedov that he should create a road map of the development of the republic. Meanwhile, Medvedev emphasized that normalization of situation in Daghestan should be, first of all , economic, RIA novosti reports.
During their meeting, Medvedev congratulated Magomedov upon accession to the office. The President noted that, that there some complicated problems, such as struggle against unemployment and corruption and realization of major programs.
Medvedev said that the main aim is the “qualitative change in grows” of the republic’s economy.
"You should have a clear list of priorities, so that the money would’t disappear like in the black hole, and would be under your and law machinery’s control," emphasized the President.
Medvedev also noticed that, that work in security strengthening should be continued. Magomedov said that today Daghestan "is one of the most subsidized depressive regions”. " We lag behind in many indicators of socio-economic development and the gross regional product per capita in Daghestan is 2,8 times as little as in Russia, and wages are more than half as high as in Russia", -he said
According to Magomedov it is necessary to"introduce innovations into the system of regional governance, to change the economy model entirely and use indirect competitive advantages". Among the priorities Magomedov mentioned development of the fuel-energy complex and , taking advantage of huge tourist potential. From his point of view, in addition Daghestan has good opportunities for transport development and logistics, and also for production of building materials.
Magomedov also added, that he intends to “create favorable conditions for attracting external and internal investors ".
