Dagestani acting president visits Ingushetia

Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov has visited the Memorial of Memory and Glory of the Ingush People, Museum of Memory of 1944 Deportations, monuments of the Wild Division and the last protector of the Brest Fortress Umatgirey Barkhanov together with Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, RIA Dagestan reports.

Yevkurov called appointment of Abdulatipov as the acting president an important source of harmony in relations of the two republics. He noted that the first 100 days of Abdulatipov’s being at power were a long term for a head of the republic, but a short one for the republic itself.

Yevkurov reminded that Abdulatipov had started major developments in economy, naval transportation, airports. Abdulatipov had many meetings with state authorities. He did not criticize his predecessors.

Abdulatipov thanked Yevkurov for reception and expressed confidence in economic and cultural unity of the two republics. He invited Yevkurov to mark the 90th anniversary of Dagestani People’s Poet Rasul Gamzatov and 200th anniversary of Dagestan as a region of Russia.
