Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland said at a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze that the CE recognized territorial unity of Georgia and expressed satisfaction with developments in Georgia according to the Geneva process of settlement of the Georgian conflict.
Jagland noted that Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili’s government improved relations with the Council of Europe. Ivanishvili made a successful speech at the PACE meeting. Georgian Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani gave a good image of reforms in Georgia.
Panjikidze said that they had discussed bilateral relations with Jagland and plans for the next three years. They talked about human rights, democratic institutes, law and settlement of conflicts, opening of a CE office in Georgia and intensification of relations.
