US President Barack Obama said after a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad must resign. Obama added that Erdogan had agreed to put more pressure on Assad’s regime and cooperate more actively with opposition, RIA Novosti reports.
The US president expressed hope that the Geneva talks attended by Russia would be fruitful.
Obama noted that the US may use diplomatic and military actions to settle the crisis in Syria and resolve the conflict together with the international society.
