Bashar Assad says he won't resign

In an interview with Argentinian media published on Saturday Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that he would never resign from his office.

"It's outrageous when someone says that the Syrian president should resign only because that's the position of the United States or terrorists," Assad said.

The remarks followed the recent statement by US President Barack Obama that Bashar al-Assad should resign in order to stop bloodshed in Syria.
