Two Iranian candidates for president quit campaign

Former spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s brother Davud have quit the presidential campaign today.

Sayid Jalili, Secretary of the Supreme Council of National Security, will run for president instead of Davud Ahmadinejad.

The list of candidates will be announced on May 21. About 700 people have filed bids for president in the last 5 days. 36 of them are well-known public and political figures.
