Former Georgian prime minister Vano Merabishvili detained

Former Georgian prime minister and Secretary General of the opposition United National Movement Vano Merabishvili has been detained. The former head of the cabinet is accused of corruption.

The prosecutor's office demanded that Merabishvili should remain under arrest before the trial.
