An Armenian soldier shot dead five of his colleagues before turning his weapon on himself, Armenian human rights activist Artur Sakunts said, Interfax reports.
The serviceman, whose surname was reported as Ayvazyan, was from Yerevan. He had earlier been deported from the USA. Sakunts said Ayvazyan opened fire after two officers began beating him after discovering him sleeping on duty. The incident took place in Karabakh. There has been no official statement from the Armenian Defense Ministry.
