Sergey Prikhodko appointed as new deputy prime minister

Sergey Prikhodko has been appointed as new deputy prime minister, the Russian president's spokesman says.

Prikhodko will replace Vladislav Surkov, formerly the Kremlin's chief ideologist, who recently resigned after an argument with the Investigative Committee, which, according to Surkov, is trying to play a major role in the country's politics.
