Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that Iran should take part in the Geneva conference of early June initiated for Syria by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry in May, RIA Novosti reports.
The Geneva-1 meeting was held on June 30, 2012. Iran did not attend it. The foreign minister believes that invitation of Iran to take part in the talks is necessary.
Lavrov emphasized that all states taking part in the meeting organized in June 2012 should get invitations. Moscow wants more participants to join.
