Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, during her visit to Azerbaijan, met with members of the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO, reports AzerTaj.
The cooperation of Azerbaijan and UNESCO was assessed during the meeting and it was pointed out that a new stage of the country's development began after it joined the Committee for non-material heritage of UNESCO. Various directions for future collaboration were also discussed. Irina Bokova rated highly the achievements made in saving the cultural heritage and the work of the president of the Geydar Aliev Fund, and Mehriban hanum Alieva, the UNESCO goodwill ambassador.
