Paulo Pinheiro, head of the UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria, said that most members of armed opposition in Syria strived for democracy, but the civil war was only causing radicalism, RIA Novosti reports.
The official noted in Paris that his commission had acquired documents about crimes made by both sides of conflict in Syria.
The commission was formed by the UN Human Rights Council in September 2011. It was ordered to study violations of human rights in Syria.
