The head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, and his Serbian counterpart, Ljubisa Dikovic, discussed today a renewed boost to bilateral collaboration on defense between Russia and Serbia.
“This year, we have stepped up our contacts with Serbia’s Defense Ministry,” RIA News quotes Gerasimov. The head of the General Staff also added that a strategic partnership declaration signed a week ago had reinforced bilateral ties. The document calls for long-term collaboration between the Russian and Serbian armed forces.
The military leaders also discussed the situation in the Balkans and a number of other current regional and international security issues. “Our relations have strategic value,” RIA News quotes General Dikovic.
