Tensions increase in Kyrgyzstan

Tensions are increasing in the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan. An uprising has started in the South-Western city of Dzhalal-Abad. Some 600 people have captured the office of the local administration, the KirTAG news agency reports.

The protesters are now electing the new governor of the region, the reports say.
