The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is going to examine the recent legislation adopted in Russia in the sphere of civil society.
The body's Venice Commission, which mainly focuses on constitutional law, will examine the recent laws concerning non-governmental organizations, espionage and so-called 'gay propaganda'.
The commission is expected to draft its reports by October 2013. The reports will then be submitted to the PACE and the body will probably pass a corresponding resolution.
Many European bodies have already expressed their deep concern over human rights violations in Russia.
