Gennady Gatilov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and special presidential envoy for the Middle East, Wendy Sherman, US Deputy Secretary of State, Elizabeth Johns, acting Assistant Secretary General, and Jeffrey Feltman, UN Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs, are attending a meeting to prepare for talks about Syria at the Geneva Palace of Nations, RIA Novosti reports.
Moscow insists on inviting Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt for the talks. Western states insist that Iran should not be involved.
